For years we Mesmers have joked that we could die a happy band if we could release an album on vinyl. Childhood nostalgia? Retro obsession? Who knows. Maybe we just want to see the album art represented on a more sizable scale. Whatever the cause, it's a quest that's come up over many a gimlet in the depths of our studio.
So it's encouraging to read that vinyl is experiencing a bit of a resurgence in the UK. This from a Washington Post article:
Stuart Allan, rock and pop singles buyer for U.K. retailer HMV, says having a single out on 7-inch vinyl is akin to a "badge of honor" for today's rock bands.
"Badge of honor" indeed!
